Advice While Designing Small Offices

Advice While Designing Small Offices

  • Tip #1: Stay organisedThere should always be a place pre decided for everything to avoid the unnecessary clutter. Cluttered spaces always makes the space look much smaller than it is. If you organise and keep your things well, the space looks much more spacious .
It’s simple! You have specific organizers that are made for your desk, table, floor ,wall ,that actually help you segregate each item into a specific slot that helps to declutter.
  • Tip #2: Use of compact and sleek furniture
Instead of using a heavy, bulky leather sofa by the reception table, you can use a sleek legged sofa, which takes up less space and makes it look less bulkier and bigger. You should make use of every corner and inch of your space. This can be done by using multi-purpose and compactable furniture. When you do not require a particular table or storage, it is packed away and put against a wall. When required, you can pull out the table or storage unit and use the storage inside it.
  • Tip #3 : Opt for strategic lighting
I cannot emphasize enough as to how important it is to use correct lighting to make your space look bigger. For example, a dim office would look much smaller, than a bright light office, even though the area of both are exactly the same. Sometimes,we do not have the advantage of windows for natural lighting. Hence ,we need to use the correct form of light at the correct distance and height to make your office look brighter. This can be done with the help of concealed track light and hanging lights. It is very important that we give more focus to the white task lights for office work
  • Tip #4: Store wisely
It does not look professional or clean to have many cables and wires all over the place. Having many printers, scanners and other equipments lying all over the table looks cramped up. You can use hideout storage to not have these items exposed. It will make the space look cleaner. You can utilize this space under the desk very efficiently, or you can even use cable organizers.
  • Tip #5: Be savy with colours
Correct choice of wall color can make such a big difference in a small office. It is very wise to use more of white, neutral and beige colors for the entire office look, and a little touch of an accent colour to the wall to give depth and personality to the space.
